Snapper are our winter time favourite. They start to show up in good numbers from May and the bigger specimens move closer to shore as the water cools down.
Cobia are big brutes caught between March - October. They hunt in packs and can provide some red hot action when they are on the bite. Prepare for Combat!
Hi speed blistering runs are the signature trait of these toothy critters. We target Spanish, Spotted and school Mackerel between late November - early June.
Holy smoking reels, its a Wahoo, a summer time favourite that loves a well presented lure or bait.
we get a great run of juvenile black Marlin between December-March on the close grounds. Bigger striped and blues can be caught out on the wider grounds.
One of our customers favourites, the Mahi mahi also known as Dolphinfish is a highly sought after species most prevalent October-March.
Various species of tuna pass through the Gold coast waters at different times of the year, Species we encounter include Bigeye, Longtails, Macks, Striped, Bonito and Yellowfin.
Snodger Jewies come out in reasonable number on the close inshore reefs through out the Winter months. Live baits are irresistible to monster Mulloway when presented right.
Venus Tuskfish are a highly sought after table species. This brightly coloured bottom reef dweller tastes devine. The humble Tusky will happily most fresh baits, and pulls hard once hooked!
Another classic table fish. Pearlies will eat live or dead baits and also respond well to jigs.

The humble Flathead. Not so much one of our target species, but they make a handy by catch and taste great. Easily caught using pilchards or fresh strip baits.
The Giant Trevally, also known as GTs are a highly prized sport fish renowned for their high speed runs and stubborn brute strength.

A deep water brute caught on the 50 fathom grounds. Live bait and jigging are the preferred target methods for AJs.
The Samson fish lives up to its name. Its a true fighter once hooked and wont give. Good quality heavy duty tackle helps here.
Teraglin are on the reef year round, they school up in large numbers through winter to spawn. Trag are a bread and butter species.
We don't really target sharks these days, but we do hook some monsters occasionally.
we also get smaller Black tips, Makos, and gummies too.
Various species of cod call the Gold coast reef systems home. Hard fighting in deep water. but worth the effort. Excellent eating.
Tailor swim in large schools on the closer grounds out to 24 fathoms. Will eat most flesh baits and pillies.
